Standalone Bubble Tea shops officially became a non-essential business yesterday (April 21), when the Covid-19 Multi-Ministry Taskforce announced that it was tightening restrictions on F&B outlets in Singapore. Starting from April 21, 11.59pm, standalone bubble tea outlets will be closed during the circuit breaker period (which has been extended to June 1). They were previously allowed to remain open as essential businesses.
This must be the worse news for all BBT warriors in Singapore whom think that they can survive staying at home during the Circuit Breaker as long as they can still enjoy their Bubble Tea everyday. But I sort of found an alternatives: Bubble Tea Ice Cream
Yup you read it right. Bubble tea flavored ice cream can be found in convenience store while stock last.
The first one is by TrueDan. Personally I feel that it have the more conventional bubble milk tea taste with a faint taste of milk tea in every bite. There are some pearls in each cone.
The second one is by 小美. It tends towards the recent trend of adding brown sugar to your bubble tea. It also have pearls hiding within the ice cream.
Hope this alternative can ease your bubble tea craving by a bit.
Remember the circuit breaker is implemented to help control the spread of Covid 19. So lets all do our part and stay at home as much as possible. SGUnited. Together We can Overcome.
