A trip to Bangkok is not complete if one did not pay a visit to any of its night market. And when it comes to night market, you wouldn't want to miss out Pratunam Market. A more appropriate word to describe Pratunam Market would be a wholesale market than night market as it operates at 3 distinct timings: Pratunam Morning Market - Daily from 5:00 to 9:00 Pratunam Day Market - Daily from 8:00 to 15:00 Pratunam Night Market - Daily from 19:00 to 23:00 I shall talk about Pratunam Night Market in this post. The main shopping area when the sun sets around Pratunam is outside Palladium Mall. This area is 15 minutes walk from The Quarter Bangkok where I stayed during my Bangkok trip (18 Jan 18 - 21 Jan 18). Like most night market, this is a good place to hunt for good bargains. More importantly, this is a place where you can buy interesting products that you can request for customization like clothes, bags and signage. If you are feeling hungry from all the shopping, a recommended dish for dinner in Pratunam is chicken rice. If you googled for "Pratunam Chicken Rice", you will obtain 2 results: Kuang Heng Chicken Rice Pratunam and Go-ang Kaomunkai Pratunam. Both stall are located on the other side of the road from Palladium Mall. Go-ang Kaomunkai Pratunam is awarded a Bib Gourmand in the inaugural Bangkok Michelin Guide 2018. They can be recognized as the stall wearing pink. Go-ang is famous for their steamed white chicken rice. Kuang Heng is just a few stall away from Go-ang and can be recognized as the stall wearing green. They served both steamed and fried chicken rice. Personally i prefer fried chicken hence i decide to try this stall. You can order a plate with both the steam chicken and the fried chicken for THB 50. They also sell satay (10 pc for THB 50). Love the food!
