One of the best spot to view Mount Fuji from Kawaguchiko is by taking the Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway or commonly known as Kawaguchiko Ropeway (previously known as Kachi Kachi Ropeway) up to the observation deck that sits near the peak of Mount Tenjo. Getting to Mt Fuji Panoramic RopewayMt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway starting station is within walking distance from Kawaguchiko Sightseeing Bus Bus Stop No 11. During My Autumn Family Trip To Japan (07112018 - 14112018), we managed to get complimentary free shuttle ride from Hotel New Century (my accommodation in Kawaguchiko) to the Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway starting station. Purchasing TicketsNormally a round trip ticket for 1 adult is 900 Yen. However, there are also various discount package deals that you can consider. I bought the Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway round trip ticket plus one way Fuji Express ticket from Kawaguchi Station To Otsuki Station which I can use for my travel to Tokyo at 1640 yen/adult (I enjoyed a discount of 400 yen per adult). Although there is a queue when we arrived, the waiting time to board the ropeway is not more than 10 minutes. Going UpThe Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway ascends 400 meters from the eastern shore of Lake Kawaguchiko to an observation deck near the peak of Mount Tenjo. The whole journey takes less than 5 minutes. But during this 5 minutes, you can enjoy the beauty of Lake Kawaguchi and a slope full of autumn red behind you as you ascends (It is best to secure a standing spot near the back of the cable to see the view of the lake below you). View of Mount FujiMount Fuji is right in front of you the moment you arrived at the observation deck from the Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway. And we were lucky to have good weather on the day we visit. Super excited !!!! Other Activities to Do1. "Tenjo Bell" A perfect spot to take couple shot with Mount Fuji. 2. Usagi Jinja (Rabbit Shrine) It is a small shrine with a rabbit on each side. It is said that if you pat the head of the "Dreaming Rabbit" (the one with its head down), it will give you wisdom. And if you rub the leg of "Fuji Rabbit" (The one standing up), it will give you strength. Not sure whether its true but overall it is a very cute shrine. 3. Throw "Kawara" The idea is to purchase a set of small clay dish and to throw it through a ring. It is believed that if you managed to throw the dish through the ring, you are blessed by the god of marriage. If you hit the ring or the pole, it means that your true love is coming soon. Anything other than that means you may need to wait a little while for love to come your way. 4. "TANUKI JAYA" shop Where there is tourist, there is souvenir shop. You can purchase souvenir related to Mount Fuji here. However the famous thing here is their dango. Very chewy. Nice. DetailsEntry Fees: 900 yen (Round Trip Adult)
