I have to admit, before my family's 6D5N cruise on board Genting Dream Cruise (29092019 - 04092019), I have not heard of the place called Nha Trang, 芽庄. Hence I was super excited that Nha Trang was the first port of call during my cruise trip. Before I go in depth into my 1 day exploration of Nha Trang, let me share a little more about this place. Nha Trang is a coastal resort city in southern Vietnam known for its long stretch of beautiful coastline with white sandy beaches, clear waters with an abundance of marine life and thriving reefs, verdant mountain ranges at each end, as well as 19 untouched islets that are just a short boat ride away. Nha Trang is also home to remnants of the Champa Kingdom, Buddhist temples, and gothic-style Catholic churches while natural hot springs, salt fields, mud baths and unique waterfalls offer a myriad of sightseeing and recreational activities. From sunbathing at the beach, to island hopping, to exploring historic sites, to relaxing at a hot spring, to feasting on Vietnam cuisine and fresh seafood, to partying in local pubs and bars and so much more.... There are so many activities in Nha Trang but I have only less than a day in Nha Trang. Hence after long planning, the following are the list of places I visited in Nha Trang. Long Son Pagoda Rainforest Cafe Galina Mud Bath and Spa Stroll along the beach We were given about 7 hours to travel free and easy in Nha Trang. We departed from the Cruise ship at around 10:30 on a smaller boat and reached shore about 30 mins later. When arrived at the port, we were swarmed by drivers of all forms offering various tour packages. Be very careful of taxi scams (I will not go into detail but you can google about them online).
I shall share my experience onshore in subsequent posts.
