We are already in the 2nd half of 2019 and I am glad to say that I was able to stay committed to my personal goal set at the start of the year which is to run at least once a week from my house to the Sembawang Hot Spring. Some of you might be wondering which is more surprising: the fact that I am running (ok I have to admit my pace is slow but at least I tried) or the fact that there is a hot spring in Singapore. So in case you have not heard, Sembawang Hot Spring is the only natural hot spring located in mainland Singapore!
The hot spring was first discovered in 1908. You can read more about its history from sources I found online such as this article about Sembawang Hot Spring by Remember Singapore. The Hot Spring is located along Gambas Ave.
Although it is very near my House, I have never visited this place until this year. But to my surprised, the place is close for renovation until late 2019. Below are some of the pictures I took of the place during my visit when the place is under going renovation.
I will write another blog once the renovation is complete. In the meantime, below is a video i found online by jakesavideo showing how the Hot Spring looks like before it was close for renovation.
